Linkbox browser extension and linkbox-6aaa0.web.app · Effective October 10, 2026

In short
  • Your links stay in your browser unless you sign in to sync them.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across websites.
  • Public pages you share collect anonymous totals only (views, clicks, discount codes copied, rough source, device type, estimated country).
  • You can export everything, and delete your account and all cloud data from Settings at any time.

What Linkbox stores

On your device. The lists and links you save — URL, title, an optional note, the site's icon, whether you marked it done, and when it was saved — are kept in your browser's extension storage. Nothing leaves your device unless you sign in.

If you sign in with Google. To sync between your devices, Linkbox stores your lists and links in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), linked to your account. From your Google account we receive your name, email address, profile photo and a unique account ID; we use them only to sign you in and to show who is signed in. Linkbox never sees your Google password.

Product details. When you're signed in, the address of each link you save is sent to Linkbox's server, which opens that page once to read its product image, price, store name and availability. These details are stored with the link and shown in Linkbox and on your public pages. The page is fetched by our server, not your browser, and nothing about you is sent to the site.

Public pages. When you create a public link for a list, a read-only copy of that list — its name and its links' titles, URLs and notes — is published so that anyone with the link can view it. Turning sharing off deletes that copy.

Analytics on public pages

When someone opens a public page, Linkbox increases anonymous daily counters for the page's owner: number of views, approximate unique visitors, clicks on each link, how often each discount code is copied, where the visit came from (for example "Instagram", "QR code" or "Direct"), the device type (mobile, desktop or tablet), and an estimated country derived from the device's time zone.

No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored by Linkbox, and nothing that identifies a visitor is recorded. To avoid double counting, the visitor's own browser remembers locally that it already viewed a page; that information never leaves their device.

Questions on public pages

If a list's owner turns on questions, visitors can send a question about an item, with an optional name. The question goes to the list's owner, who can answer, hide or delete it. Only answered questions are shown on the public page, together with the answer and the name the visitor gave. Unanswered and hidden questions are visible only to the owner. Questions are deleted when the owner deletes them, stops sharing the list, or deletes their account. Don't include personal details in a question you don't want published.

When asking, a visitor can also leave an email address to be told when their question is answered. The address is stored separately from the question, is never shown publicly or to the list's owner, and is used for exactly one email containing the answer. It is deleted as soon as that email is sent, or when the question is deleted. Emails are sent through our email delivery provider, Brevo.

List owners get notified about new questions by a browser notification and, unless they turn it off in Settings, an email to their account address with the question text.

What we don't do

Payments

Linkbox Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach Linkbox. We store your Stripe customer ID and your plan's status (plan, renewal or trial end date) so Linkbox knows which features to show. Stripe's handling of payment data is described in the Stripe privacy policy.

Service providers

Linkbox runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Hosting), operated by Google LLC, which processes data on our behalf. Site icons are loaded from Google's favicon service using the website's domain name. Google's handling of this data is described in the Firebase privacy and security documentation.

Your choices

Data retention

Synced data is kept until you delete it or your account. When you delete a link or list it is removed from your devices; a small deletion marker may remain in the cloud so your other devices learn about the deletion. Everything is removed when you delete your account.

Children

Linkbox is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Significant changes will also be announced in the extension.
